VariSpeed, Album Variants and Lyrics Files

I tightened up how Zenteek groups tracks, fixed a few indexing edge cases, and added a playback tool that opens up a new way to listen: VariSpeed.

Album identity is now more collector-friendly

If you own multiple versions of the same release, Zenteek should now treat them with more respect. The Compilation option now carries more weight when grouping tracks, which helps reduce bad matches in mixed libraries.

I also fixed the behavior of Hide lower quality duplicates. It should no longer hide legitimate album variants in the detail view, which is important when you have multiple encodes, remasters, or folder-based versions of the same album.

Better handling for playlists and cloud shares

I fixed indexing issues related to playlists and cloud file shares when files are not materialized yet at import time. In other words, Zenteek is now less impressed by files that claim to exist but have not actually shown up yet.

Side-loading lyrics is now supported

Embedded lyrics are still supported, but they are no longer the only option. Zenteek can now load lyrics from files sitting next to the music file, like .lrc or .txt. That means you can keep your lyrics outside the metadata and still have them appear in the Lyrics panel.

That fallback matters more than it sounds. A lot of collectors already store synced or unsynced lyric sheets beside the audio file, and now Zenteek can use them directly when embedded lyrics are missing.

VariSpeed changes playback in a useful way

VariSpeed is the feature I am most excited about in this update. It lets you change playback speed freely, a bit like a turntable pitch slider or tape speed control. You can use the slider for fine control or pick one of the presets below it.

It lives in the Output Tools panel for now, and you can also find more multipliers and divisions in the Playback menu. Double-click the slider to reset it back to zero.

I also made sure crossfade still respects your listening speed.

More room for real libraries

Zenteek keeps moving toward the way collectors actually store music. Different encodes, different releases, sidecar lyrics, playlists, cloud shares - this update is about handling all of that without getting in the way.
