A Crash, A Toggle, And Some Tahoe Cleanup
· by Kjell
The Stereoize DSP I was so happy about yesterday turned out to have a nasty bug - it crashed on hi-res material. Which is, you know, exactly the kind of material the people who care about this stuff are most likely to throw at it. Fixed that first thing this morning. Embarrassing, but at least the reproduction was clean and the fix was a single buffer size assumption I'd hardcoded without thinking. As far as i know the bug went unnoticed. Phew...
The Equalizer got a proper upgrade. You can now pick the shape of each band with a simple toggle: peak, high-shelf, low-shelf. AutoEQ also fully supports shelving bands now, which means imported headphone correction curves finally sound and look right instead of being approximated by peaks at the edges.
And I spent a chunk of the evening on macOS 26 Tahoe-related UI issues. A bunch of subtle layout things that looked off under the new system - padding, translucency, control sizes. Mostly cleaned up now. A few edge cases left. I will announce full Tahoe support when I am 100% satisfied. Right now mostly the option pickers don't stretch to full width. Minor issue for now. Back to bigger things.
